The Japanese automaker Toyota has recently been announced a new high-performance TRD version of the 2020 Avalon sedan. Toyota Racing Division has provided several chassis upgrades, improvements and aggressive designs for the 2020 Avalon TRD.
Although there are some mechanical upgrades under the hood, but the 2020 Toyota Avalon TRD is still powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine rated at 301 horsepower, this is the same powertrain that the Camry TRD has. An 8-speed automatic transmission is the only gearbox option that can be found on the latest TRD Avalon sedan.
Several performance equipment offered for the 2020 Avalon TRD includes new lower springs, front brakes with 12.9-inch larger rotors plus dual pistons, and some improvements that are claimed to increase its torsional rigidity. Furthermore, the new Toyota Avalon TRD is equipped with 19-inch lighter black wheels wrapped in Michelin Primacy all-season tires, and this is the same option that you can find on the Avalon XSE.
Some other upgrades can also be seen such as a new body kit with a front splitter, rear diffuser, red brake calipers, and red badges. This makes Avalon TRD’s appearance a little more mature and more charming than the Camry TRD. Inside, you will find seats with red accents, faux-suede inserts, and red stitches throughout the interior and seat belts.
Speaking of its release date and price, the 2020 Toyota Avalon TRD is set to go on sale at U.S. dealers this fall with an estimated price of several thousand dollars higher than the current Avalon XSE V6 which is priced at $38,920.
