The redesigned 2020 Nissan Versa with a full camouflage has been spotted by the spy photographer’s camera in its public road testing recently. Looking at the spy shots photos, the upcoming Versa looks to have a far more attractive design proportion compared to the current model. The new Versa also looks to have a fresh look and a new face, as part of its change and redesign. And that does not come out of the Versa mission aimed at providing new cars at the cheapest, most affordable, and most efficient prices on the market.
The Japanese car manufacturer will no longer offer the Versa hatchback version for the 2020 model years because the Versa Note hatchback variant will soon be dropped from the Versa lineup. Instead, the 2020 Nissan Versa will only be available in the sedan version as Nissan confirmed, which revealed that the company would immediately stop the production of the Versa Note hatchback.
As a subcompact sedan, Versa has been dubbed the cheapest and smallest new Nissan car sold in the United States market and the last time this sedan got a redesign in 2012. So it’s been a long time this model didn’t get redesign and others changes. However, now, the next-generation 2020 Nissan Versa sedan is ready to hit the market!!!
The Nissan Maxima and Altima sedan are likely to provide many design style cues for the new 2020 Versa subcompact sedan. This can be seen from the exterior design, where the new model has adopted Nissan’s V-Motion grille design with its taillights similar to the current Altima sedan. In addition, several other fundamental changes that have been made by Nissan on this new sedan include a more tapered roofline and higher deck compared to the current model. So there’s no taller awkward silhouette in the next-generation Versa.
Under the hood, the 2020 Nissan Versa is likely to still be powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a standard manual transmission capable of producing 109 horsepower. The new Versa will also remain available as a front-wheel drive model with a torsion-beam rear suspension feature, and a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) as optional. However, the new Versa sedan is expected to offer new engine options for the 2020 model years, considering the current 1.6L engine is not so smooth and only produces 109 HP.
Information on the release date for the 2020 Nissan Versa has been revealed, where the new sedan will make its official debut this April. As for its on-sale-date, the new Versa subcompact sedan is scheduled to go on sale at the U.S dealers later this year with a starting price slightly higher than the current model which is priced at $13,255. Key competitors for the 2020 Nissan Versa, including the Hyundai Accent, Kia Rio, Chevrolet Sonic, and Toyota Yaris sedan.
