The Japanese car manufacturers have officially revealed the 2020 Acura TLX PMC Edition at last month New York Auto Show. This is a special hand-built luxury sedan that is produced on a limited basis at the same assembly plant as the Acura NSX at the Honda’s Performance Manufacturing Center (PMC) in Marysville, Ohio. The new TLX PMC Edition is based on the TLX A-Spec performance sedan with more sophisticated features.
Since it’s based on the Acura TLX A-Spec, the automaker has confirmed that this luxury sedan doesn’t get a performance upgrade under its hood. So it’s clear that the 2020 Acura TLX PMC Edition is still powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine mated to a Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive System (Acura SH-AWD) and nine-speed automatic transmission, rated at 290 horsepower. The TLX PMC is also equipped with a quick-ratio steering and A-Spec’s stiffer dampers, as well as offering an Advance Package that includes heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, surround-view camera, power folding mirrors, and surround-view camera.
Both the exterior and interior of the 2020 TLX PMC Edition are also based on Acura TLX A-Spec trim, which receives several refreshments, minor revisions and fundamental improvements at some points of the car. The exterior now has a new dark chrome trim, black spoiler, larger exhaust tips, and a revised front bumper. Furthermore, the 2020 Acura TLX PMC is wrapped on the Valencia Red Pearl paint color that combines metal flake materials, mica, and super-high transparency nano pigments like the Acura NSX. This limited edition luxury sedan is offered with a 19-inch ten-spoke black wheels and gets a glossy black touch on the front grille, roof panel, door handles, and its lower bumper.
Moving into the interior, there are several updates offered by the TLX PMC which include Alcantara leather seats, black leather steering wheel, black headliner, red accent lighting, red instrument cluster, as well as heated and ventilated front sport seats. Apart from that, the 2020 Acura TLX PMC Edition is a very special hand-built luxury sedan and will only be produced as many as 360 units for the U.S. market in a six-month period.
There’s no official word for the price and release date at this time. Nevertheless, the 2020 Acura TLX PMC Edition is scheduled to arrive at U.S. dealerships this summer with an estimated starting price of around $50,000. The TLX PMC luxury sports sedan will be hand-assembled by the same Acura NSX supercar technician at Honda’s Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio. So, it’s not wrong if we call this TLX PMC really a limited edition special car.
